Greetings,
I just reached 2000 points of painted Necrons, and I thought I would share it with you guys. But first maybe a short introduction of myself, I've been a Warhammer fan since forever, although I didn't get into it until late 2017 because of reasons. Since december 2017 I've collected and painted about 13000 points of various armies, including Tyranids/GSC, Ulthwé, Imperial Fists, Chaos, Death Guard, Custodes, Nighthaunt and now Necrons. I keep a game journal and have played about 120 games, and participated in two handfuls of tournaments. Lets just say I live and breathe Warhammer... And I love this channel, I think it really brings together all of the aspects of the hobby that I love and just melds it together perfectly.
Coming into Necrons was sort of an accident, my friend plays them and was struggling so I offered to take his models, read through the book and see what I could come up with. It turned out the list I built was so much fun to play I had to own it... And then I started thinking about a paint scheme, models I like and built the narrative, something which I find is very important to get a feel for your army.
Enter the Tushekh dynasty, when they awoke from their long slumber they found themselves in a much changed world. Amongst the first to awaken was Setiri, she was quite high up in the hierarchy but not amongst the ruling council, which was led by the Phaeron and his three most trusted advisors, the Overlords. Setiri however was not greeted by them, but by a blinding green light, filling her with energy and she heard a voice as the vague outline of a shape left the tomb.
She strode forward, full of purpose, now bearing the title of High Priestess for she was the one chosen by her God to lead her people. The Phaeron and two of his Overlords she found slumped into their thrones, alive, but nothing more than burnt out husks, a reminder of what happens when you defy your deity. Next to them stood the third, apparently possessing a higher sense of survival, alone of the Tushekh to know the truth of things but still deciding to stand with the C'tan that the rest of them worship as a God because he didn't wish to end up like the Phaeron and the others.
This as of now unnamed character is something of a mystery and a wild card, it is clear he wants to rid the Tushekh of the C'tan and yet again strive towards conquering the stars, but for now he defers to High Priestess Setiri and realizes his life depends on it. Under him he has legions of Necron warriors, loyal to him and him alone, so within the Tushekh dynasty there is a power struggle. Sometimes he rides in his Catacomb Command Barge, or at other times he is found on foot, if Setiri isn't present he usually leads the force, and adopt the Mephrit dynasty. While she is present, the Tushekh use the rules for the Sautekh dynasty.
This list will be brought to a tournament on the 6-7 of july, called the Lords of War 5, they usually have very nice scenery and take alot of photos and even do some youtube videos. For anyone interested in looking further, the quality of paint is very high in my opinion.

As you can see the army is composed of three different detachments and with Imotekh ends up at 11 command points, I always spend one and give the Command Barge a lightning field though, also with the possibility of generating more command points.
With the fliers, Imotekh and the C'tan there's the potential of doing quite alot of mortal wounds, and the amount of times where I have been able to free up my Immortals that were stuck in combat by using the Lord of the Storms and C'tan powers are quite high. The fliers and their stratagem tends to get into my opponents heads and they start deploying weirdly for fear of getting a huge mortal wound bomb in their lines, this usually ends up in my favour as I can sort of dictate the battlefield.
The Triarch Stalker is obviously there for the rerolls, and therefore I've used the gun with the best range, and any damage it does I see as a bonus, I do really like that it has some melee output aswell which tends to take people off guard.
Except for the Immortals, which I love, alot of things either fly, or have a high movement, which was something I really wanted for my force, if I had more money I would probably look to add some Tesseract Arks from Forgeworld. Tomb Blades are generally mvp's, very fast, resilient and with methodical destruction all that tesla do alot of damage, they usually move in fast, kill off infantry and charge the tanks, hopefully surround their target and if they've taken casualties they just sit there and regenerate while they cant be shot at.
When I built this army, as with any, it was important for me to only use models I like the look off, hence no Destroyers, which I agree are really good, although I think Tomb Blades are better, but thats just my opinion, but I cant stand the way they look. I also believe Doomsday Arks are exceptionally good, but everyone uses them and I felt like I wanted to go more for the narrative, this is early in the days of the Tushekh dynasty, their God, the Transcendent C'tan is leading them in search of power, with the ultimate goal of breaching the Black Library and mastering the psychic powers of the Aeldari.
I realize this was quite long winded, but hey, if you've read this far I commend and salute you. My hope is for this thread to evolve into all things Necron, tactics, lore, sharing of armies, fluff, ideas, etc.
Kind regards,
Atries/Marc

Crazy paint scheme! Looks great. Well done for getting to 2k. Love the larger unit of Tomb Blades. I've really enjoyed using mine in recent battles...and found them very effective too. Yes may well turn this into a list analysis in the future:)
Yeah, that glow effect you have going on is amazing, especially on the Immortal's tesla carbines.
Thank you, guys! Yes, I've been meaning to comment on the recently changed Necron list you've been running, I love it, alot more bodies on the board now. I was especially happy to see the Tomb Blades brought in, as they're one of my favourite units, haha! If possible I reckon you should try them out with different weaponry, although they will become a bit more expensive that way.
Thanks. Yeah really happy with the new list. Yes...great to have the Tomb Blades back...yes good idea to experiment with the weapons:)
