Hi, SS82! I'm a follower of the Youtube stuff, and an off and on subscriber on the Plus channel here. I love Craftworlds Eldar and have a 1000-pt. army more or less ready to go:
PATROL DETACHMENT:
Spiritseer (Protect/Jinx)
Warlock w/ Witchblade (Empower/Horrify)
Guardian Squad (20 w/ 2 Shuriken Cannons)
Howling Banshees (8 + Exarch w/ Executioner)
Wraithlord w/ 2 Bright Lances, 2 Flamers, Ghostglaive
Wave Serpent w/ Twin Shuriken Cannon, Shuriken Cannon, Vectored Engines, Star Engines
SUPREME COMMAND DETACHMENT:
Eldrad Ulthran (Doom, Executioner, Will of Asuryan)
Warlock w/ SInging Spear (Quicken/Restrain)
Warlock w/ Singing Spear (Protect/Jinx)
Going by new Chapter Approved numbers, I think that works out to 49 PL and 999 pt., so just under 50/1000. Which works great for me because the friends I play with locally run about the same numbers.
Usually the way I play them is sticking the Banshees in a Wave Serpent with the Spiritseer and Warlock, using them to snag or slow down targets while firing away with the Wraithlord and Eldrad in the back and Guardians somewhere in the middle. The Psykers keep the Banshees from losing morale, keep the Guardians protected, and keep stuff from reaching the Guardians or the units in the back. Hasn't had a ton of success but I love using Banshees, Guardians, and Psykers.
What I'm wondering is this:
- Any way within a 1000 pt. limit that I could optimize this or use this better? Or are there any units I could add/switch out that might help balance them out?
- If I was to build these up to a 1500 pt. or 2000 pt. level, what kinds of Craftworlds units would complement these or fill these out well?
